A thick-shake should require a spoon. If you can drink it straight through a straw without any effort, something has gone wrong. Ours require a spoon. We consider that a feature.
The five flavours
Chocolate. The benchmark. Dense, proper chocolate flavour, not the kind that tastes like chocolate-flavoured powder. This is the one most people order first and the one most people come back to.
French vanilla. Cleaner than it sounds. Not overly sweet, good vanilla flavour throughout. The one people order when they want something they can actually finish.
Strawberry. Made with real strawberry, which matters more than you'd think. Gets ordered a lot by people who claim they don't usually get strawberry shakes and then immediately order it again on the next visit.
Salted caramel. Probably the most-photographed of the five. The salt cuts through the sweetness in a way that makes it very easy to keep going. You've been warned.
Espresso. For the coffee drinkers who want something cold and thick and a bit dangerous at 10am on a Saturday. It works.
What to pair it with
Honestly, anything. The salted caramel alongside a fried sandwich is a combination that comes up in conversation more than we expected. The espresso shake with a Dad's Benny is also a known combination among the regulars who have made peace with their choices.
They're on the drinks menu. Come in and work your way through them.
